Feed ramp shorter than factory barrel |

The feed ramp on this barrel is shorter than the feed ramp on the factory .40 barrel by about 1 to 1-1/2 mm. This causes the bottom of the bullet nose to hang up on the bottom of the barrel feed ramp. A sharp tap on the bottom of the magazine sends the round in the chamber and the slide forward. I've only tried it with speer gold dot hollowpoint ammunition and the factory S&W magazines are super stiff. To be fair, I need to try other ammunition brands and bullet types. I have also ordered aftermarket magazines. Comparing the factory .40 barrel to the 357 and 9mm conversion barrels I confirmed that the factory barrel has a slightly longer feed ramp. Overall quality is very good and the barrel is accurate. Lockup on the slide is very good as all other dimensions are spot on. I honestly feel that a slightly longer feed ramp would make for a much better, more reliable barrel that would eat whatever you fed it. For now I'm having trust issues.
